Fabrics of recycled materials

Rethink, react, reuse, reduce.

Those words have given name to RE –

our label for textiles made from recycled material.

Our RE label highlights textiles that are wholly or partially made from recycled materials. Examples of recycled materials include edge strips from our own production or waste fibres from a yarn manufacturer that are collected, broken down, carded and spun anew. The recycled yarn then retains its original properties and the same high durability.

Together with our partners, we find new ways to reduce waste without compromising quality. The initiative is perfectly in line with Svensson's goal of creating production chains where resources are re-evaluated and textiles become sustainable in a double sense.

Products labelled with RE are made from at least 70% recycled material, although most have a significantly higher proportion. The label can be found on both upholstery fabrics and hanging fabrics.

By taking responsibility for our products throughout the entire chain – from fibre to finished textile and from usage to recycling – we can find smarter ways to utilise resources. We can improve our methods and offer new solutions with an increasingly positive impact on people and the environment. This work is ongoing and is at the top of our agenda. The goal is a circular ecosystem where we help each other make sustainable choices. Therefore, every textile labelled with RE is a step in the right direction.

Recycle your Trevira CS fabrics

The fibre manufacturer Indorama Ventures Fibers Germany GmbH has a return programme for textiles made from their polyester fibre Trevira CS. This means that the material in the textile can be collected and reused through mechanical recycling. Svensson helps those who have purchased textiles from us to carry out the recycling.
