A more sustainable solution for daylight

By broadening the perspective on daylight control – from only external sun protection or internal blinds, to the fabrics that are a part of the interior design – you suddenly gain numerous sustainable advantages. Long-lasting products, recyclable materials, and environmental certifications are some of them.

Interior textiles are not the obvious choice when talking about daylight regulation. But perhaps they should be? Unlike many other sun protection solutions, hanging fabrics are a flexible, long-lasting and in many cases more environmentally advantageous solution.

The right material choice opens up for certifications and circularity, without compromising functionality or aesthetics.

Textiles that meet environmental requirements

All Svenssons hanging fabrics are made of flame-retardant Trevira CS, which through the Trevira take-back return programme, are completely recyclable. Virtually all products are also certified according to EU Ecolabel and Oeko-Tex.

By choosing the right product, you can facilitate the environmental certification of the entire building.

Long lifespan, less waste

Unlike external solutions, internal hanging fabrics are protected from weather and wind, which gives them a longer lifespan. They are also easy to maintain and replace without affecting other parts of the building.

Reflection that makes an impact

A textile with high light reflection not only reflects the light but also some of the heat that sunlight brings with it. In certain directions, the right textile can therefore help to maintain an even room temperature, thereby contributing to lower energy usage.

Designed to sustain

Our products are, of course, made to be durable both technically and aesthetically. With timeless expressions, careful design, tested colour fastness, and high material quality, we create textiles that withstand both wear and fleeting trends. This results in décor that can last year after year, reducing the need for new products to be produced.

Designing daylight

How daylight works

Daylight changes throughout the day and year – in intensity, direction, and hue. Here we go through how natural light works and how it affects the room, so you can make better decisions regarding fabrics, light entry, and visual comfort.

Designing sounds

The advantages of textiles

What can you create with daylight? Here we show you how you can use daylight—not just block or let it through—to make light, visibility and temperature your design tools.
